Visiting the UNIC Reference Library

The public is welcome to visit the UNIC Library from Monday to Friday during the hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. These visits are best for referring to Vacancy Notices Folders and research that does not require the assistance of the Library Assistant.

Researchers and other individuals wishing to consult the reference collection with the assistance of the Library Assistant, should contact the Library ahead of time (at least two days prior to visit) to allow for sufficient time to gather relevant materials.

Group Visits to the Library should be no larger than six persons and require that arrangements be made well in advance (at least five working days) of the planned visit. Model UN (MUN) participants must also set up an appointment and supply additional information about the planned visit. For more information on MUN visits refer to the Model UN Resources Page.
Please note that visitors to the Centre are not allowed to bring large bags, parcles, backpacks etc..

Users of the Library can have access to online UN resources and multimedia resources such as CDs, DVDs and can make arrangements to screen DVDs and videos in the Library's AV holdings.

Depository Libraries in the English and Dutch Speaking Caribbean

Since 1946, the Dag Hammarskjold Library of the United Nations Secretariat in New York has arranged for the distribution of United Nations documents and publications to users around the world through its Depository Library ( DL) system. At present there are eight DLs in seven Caribbean Member States maintaining United Nations material from the date of designation as depository to the present. The general public can consult the material free of charge at any depository library.
